At Chipping Ongar Primary School we provide a broad and balanced curriculum to ensure that children have opportunities to develop and extend their abilities and interests. Our curriculum aims to create successful learners, responsible citizens, and confident individuals. The curriculum provides essential knowledge and skills alongside a breadth of learning to make connections across the subjects. Spanish is also taught in Years 3-5 with BSL and French being taught in Year 6.
The school also has a wealth of musical equipment in the dedicated music area which is used by pupils. Competitive sport is balanced with sportsmanship and opportunities for all children to enjoy a range of sports. A wide variety of clubs ensure children enjoy extra-curricular activity.
At Chipping Ongar Primary School, we teach the requirements of the National Curriculum through termly topics, which are carefully planned to create meaningful and purposeful links between subjects and to build purposefully upon prior learning and skills.
